Michael Hall, a protegee of Wilhelm Valentiner, Sir John Pope-Hennessy, Rudolf Wittkower, and Sir Francis Watson, has been collecting and selling art to major collectors and museums since the 1940s when he was a prominent actor in movies and television.
Mr. Hall, for over 50 years, has supplied works of art (primarily sculpture) to many major museums in the United States (over 20 major sculptures to The National Gallery in Washington D.C., several major sculptures to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York), and in Europe (The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archeology, Oxford, and Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam) and has loaned his collections to museums throughout the world.
Internationally known for Renaissance sculpture, Mr. Hall, has influenced many scholars including several curators active in major museums:
